Dog News
Okay, this is an extremely difficult time for me! My beautiful sheltie, Sara, passed away back in March of this year and now my parents are really interested in getting a new dog. I have such mixed feelings about it because the circumstances surrounding my Sara's death were so traumatic that I don't know if I can bear to go through that kind of agony ever again :(. I am still in the major mourning phase and just can't see myself ever being ready for this again! We are supposed to go look at a sheltie breeder this coming Monday (Aug. 4th). There is a 1 year old male and a 3 year old female that are the possible prospects, both tri-colored. My Sara was a bi-black (for those who don't know that's just black and white).

I have been in emotional hell for the last month as this dog search has grown and progressed but it's impossible to really have much input into the final decision. My Mom had back surgery in April of this year and is still having a lot of problems and she desperately wants a new companion, so how can I justify not going along with it? We'll probably end up bringing a dog home that day as well, which seems a bit sudden to me but the place is 2.5 hours away so it's hard to go and visit too often. I'll try and post more info after we get back and let you know what happens.
