A Sad Reminder
Today would have been my baby, Sara's, 16th birthday! I can't believe we have been without her now for almost two years. In that time I think I've finally reached the stage of healing from her death. I do, however, still have times, where I will think about her and just cry my eyes out at the realization that she's truly gone from my life. :(

She was truly my best friend and not a day passes that I don't think about her. Nowadays I reflect back on happier times of when she'd do funny things, or how beautiful she was. She will forever be in my heart and I pray everyday that I will be reunited with her, one day again. I love you, baby girl. You were a true gift from heaven and I was so blessed to have known you for 14 precious years. ♥

- For those of you who are newer friends, you can read my previous posts about Sara to understand the background.

Awww dear. I'm so sorry. It's amazing that such a little pet can be part of your family, can give so much love and comfort. Losing them is like losing a family member. *hugs you very tight*

Losing a pet is just like losing a human family member. I lost our family dog, who was 13, just 4 months after losing my mom. They really are the best friends anyone could ask for.

It truly is. My Sara was with me everyday and I felt close to her than many of my human family members! I'm so sorry that you lost your Mom and your dog so close to each other! *HUGS BACK*

I am so sorry for your loss. I suffered my own this very day 27 years ago, so my feelings today are very similar to yours. Let's commiserate together and tell our loved ones in heaven how much we miss them.

Love, Robin

Awww, hon. :( I totally understand how you feel. It's really hard to lose a beloved pet - they're so much a member of your family. When I was 6 we lost our dog Honey, and it took me so long to get over it. 6 months later and I was still crying over it, even though we'd gotten another dog. I can't even think about what it would be like without my Penny... and she's getting on in years (she'll be 14 next month).

It is good to think of the happy times and how you carry a piece of her in your heart. :)

Thanks for being so supportive, Jess, it helps so much! I'm sorry about your Honey. I don't think you ever completely get over the loss of a pet. I had a collie who died 16 years ago and I still cry for him every once in a while. He was a true angel and I will never ever forget him. ♥

I hope your Penny lives for another 14 years! *hugs back*

*hugs you tightly* You always write so beautifully about Sara. I know you love her very much and that's why it hurts so badly. But it's good to hear you feel like you are healing.

Aww, thank you for saying that, it means a lot. I do finally think I've begun to heal from losing Sara, but it's still a very long process. *hugs back*

I've been there. July will be two years since Murray went to heaven, and I've been thinking about him a lot lately, too. Losing him was one of the single most painful experiences I've ever been through.

*big hugs*

Aww, I remember your post about Murray. It's so difficult to continue life without your beloved pet beside you. *hugs*

*snuggles* Sorry you lost your furball - they're such an important part of a family.

Thanks, hon. They definitely are an important part of the family, they are family. ♥ *hugs back*

Aww, *hugs*. At least you have your other little doggie. But it is hard when pets die. I had a pet gerbil named Valentine when I was younger, and it was hard when he died. And all the fish that I had. But I haven't had anymore fish or pets for a few years, so I don't have to live with that heartache anymore. Unless I want to get back into it of course, which I'd like to get more fish sometime.

Yes, I am very grateful to have my baby, Damon now. It was a difficult and painful road to go down, but I've grown to love him very much. I'm sorry about your Valentine, it's always painful to lose a pet of any kind. *hugs back*

I'm so sorry about Sara. I know how hard it is to lose a pet, because they become such a big part of your life and family.

Aw losing pets can be as bad as losing family or friends. I know if my one dog Milo dies, or when, I'll be inconsolable for a while. ♥
Kristin: Emma Watsonkristypadalecki on February 10th, 2010 06:28 pm (UTC)
They truly are like family. I hope your Milo is around for many more happy years! *hugs*
