Have you guys heard about this swine flu epidemic in Mexico and now the US? I'm so afraid it's going to turn into a pandemic and I'm beinning to panic! D: Do you think we should worry? I guess no one in the US has died but I'm still worried (more for my parents & brother than myself). *trembling*

I just read that Bea Arthur died as well. Too much bad news for one day. :C

I wouldn't worry too much at the moment. Apparently it is only in Texas and California, which is where a lot of the the illegals come in from.
I haven't read much about it, but I would assume to take the same precautions as with the regular flu. Make sure you keep your hands clean and germ free.

And yeah I read about Bea Arthur as well, that totally and completely sucks! =(

I'm trying not to worry, but it's difficult. I always make sure to wash my hands and keep things clean (hope that's enough)!

I am pretty freaked out about this weird ass flu myself. Do not want.

omg Bea Arthur. That's sad.

I know, I don't want my family or myself to be in jeopardy!

I think the most scary part about the swine flu is that they don't know much about it yet. I'm going to wait until they have more answers, or can't find any answers in the future, before panicking. It's still a little scary.
Kristin: David- Gorgeouskristypadalecki on April 25th, 2009 11:45 pm (UTC)
I know. They don't really say much about the symptoms or what to look for. :/

I'm so freaking out! I just pray it doesn't affect anyone like it did in Mexico.

Whenever something like this happens (eg. the avian flu a couple years ago), I always tend to worry about it. =/ So yeah, I am starting to worry about the swine flu now. I don't think any one of the US cases have died from it (at least not yet), so I guess that's a little reassuring?

I had no idea about Bea Arthur! That is such a sad shock. :( I absolutely loved her in The Golden Girls.

I know, I went nuts after all of the avian flu talk as well. I wish we didn't keep having to worry about all these weird things. I don't think anyone from this country has died (hope it stays that way).

I couldn't believe it either when I heard about Bea Arthur. She seemed like one of those people that would live forever, you know?

I just posted about Bea Arthur. :*(

I'm not too worried just yet bc info on it is still coming out. I think once they have enough information to know what we're really dealing with, then it's time to decide to worry or not. right now it's just a waiting thing.
Kristin: Wolfkristypadalecki on April 25th, 2009 11:47 pm (UTC)
I'm trying to think that way, but it's not easy. I always tend to panic before I have all the facts. I just hope it doesn't amount to anything too serious.

I'm not too worry at this point but there could be a point in the future that I might. But some precautions you could take is always carry a little bottle of Germ-X, it won't kill all the germs but it def helps. Always wash you hands like Lora said and if you suspect somebody might be sick, kinda avoid them if you can. I can look up in my Nursing book for more precautions if you want me too but those I just remember from the top of my head.

Also about Bea Arthur, it does totally sucks!

Thanks for the tips! I usually do those things, except carrying the Germ-X (I'll have to get some). Hopefully this will not get as bad as they say on the news. *prays*

:( for Bea Arthur. She was like the patron saint of ToughPigs.com forum...

But on the plus side of the Swine Pandemic, I have a feeling Miss Piggy jokes will be in abundance on Colbert and Daily Show, if nothing else...

I feel so bad about Bea Arthur, she will be missed. :C

Lol, we should try and find something positive about all of this!

I'm just confused as to how people get swine flu when they're not around swine. I totally forgot about it until I was working with a pig today. Well, not with but there is one at my work and it's in a cage and I walked by it.haha
Kristin: Davykristypadalecki on April 26th, 2009 03:39 am (UTC)
I know, it doesn't make sense. From what I've read about it, it's usually found in pigs and is uncommon for people to come down with it. :/

I wouldn't worry too much about it, the news tends to blow stuff like that up when it's usually not that big of a deal.

That makes me so sad about Bea Arthur. :c

I truly hope you're right!

Aww Kristen, I wouldn't worry. It'll all be okay. And thansk for the info on Bea Arthur. I had no idea. :(
Kristin: HP- Lupin & Tonkskristypadalecki on April 26th, 2009 03:41 am (UTC)
I'll try and have faith that it will be okay. I'm worried about my brother too, as he travels back and forth to NYC quite often, and there have been some positive cases found there already!
Amyancientwhispers on April 26th, 2009 03:32 am (UTC)
Epidemics/pandemics are frightening, naturally! When my dad broke the news to us I was like, "Oh no...not another calamity!" I hope no one dies here in the US!
Kristin: David- Angelkristypadalecki on April 26th, 2009 03:42 am (UTC)
I know I'm frightened! I hope no one dies either.

I read about the flu today too. Definitely made me uneasy! It seems to just be in California, so maybe they can keep it contained and find a cure before it gets to a dangerous level! But you're not alone, I'm always a worry wart when it comes to stuff like this, so I try to just busy my mind as best I can! :)

I read about Bea, too. So sad. :( I used to watch Golden Girls with my Gramma when I was growing up.
Kristin: Heath Ledger- R.I.P.kristypadalecki on April 26th, 2009 03:44 am (UTC)
There seems to be confirmed cases in four states now, so I'm starting to really worry! I just pray it isn't as strong a strain as it is in Mexico, which they say it isn't so far.

I live in Texas. I am going to stock up on bottles of hand sanitizer, and I'm tempted to buy one of those face masks.
Kristin: Stock- Depressedkristypadalecki on April 27th, 2009 03:43 am (UTC)
It's so scary, isn't it? I pray that it does not turn into a major epidemic and that this country is ready for whatever might happen.

I know, I'm just scared to death right now. I thought I'd go out of my mind during the birdflu scare, but this sounds even worse! o.O
