I have been a fan of this extraordinary show ever since I saw the film. Unfortunately, I'm embarrassed to admit, I did not know too much about it prior to that. *blush* My favorite character is Angel, ever since my very first viewing <3! I love Mark as well. The message this show sends out is so very important and the music is just to die for. I had seen the show back in Dec. of 2006 and I have to tell you, this time around was so much more incredible!
I defintely give a large majority of the credit to Anthony Rapp & Adam Pascal's brilliant performances. Actually getting to see them live brought tears to my eyes and I will never forget it as long as I am on this earth. I adore Anthony Rapp and after having read his biography, Without You, it meant even more to me to see him in person. All I kept thinking about was his poor mother, and at the end when they were taking their curtain calls, I saw him look up and make some kind of gesture with his hands and I just knew he was looking up at her. *dies*
I don't mean to take away from the rest of the cast, because they were all just awesome in their respective roles (click here to see the cast), and it was a treat to see Gwen Stewart who was a member of the original cast as well. Something else that really touched me was the fact that this group gave it everything they had and performed as if it was for the very first time. I thought that was extraorinary for just a matinee. That just shows what accomplished professionals they all were! =)
It was truly a magical 2.5 hours and I feel so blessed and grateful to have gotten the opportunity to see this incredibly moving show with those original players one last time. I will forever cherish the experience and it will live on in my heart for many years to come. <3
